Beautiful Blue ...

Etsy Shop
Hi Everybody,

The Ivy leaf on the flower  corsage is one of the  Die' sire Christmas  range from  Crafters Companion

But it is such a versatile die that can be used all year round and it will make all your floral displays look really pretty.

Now I know you are going to ask me what the background die is ... but I can't remember the name ... only that I got it from  US a while ago.

I have trimmed it down to fit my card front ...  but it does look very nice under the flowers.

They as always are from Wild Orchid Crafts

The ribbon is some from my "Stash" and has been tied in a double bow.

The sentiment is from the Sentimentals Range from Crafters Companion  and cut with Labels Twenty Three

The matching "Bling" is  from  Want2Scrap  which is a US based company.   You may be able to buy their products  in this country and you will need to  research suppliers.

Twigs not leaves ...

Hi Everybody,

I thought that for this card I would use twigs to surround the flowers instead of leaves and I think it looks really pretty.

I used some light brown card stock that I already had and it is quite a strong card at 300 gsm.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts  and I have added some sparkle to the petals.

The wide satin ribbon is from Mei Flower and is tied in a single bow.

The pearl and Diamante centre is from The Hobby House

I have added just a small strip of   Diamante along the side of the sentiment as it lacked a little something for me.

The sentiment has been heat embossed in silver and the card is in the Hinged Card style

Have you added your name to the  November Give Away  ???  You could win a voucher for £25 to spend with Crafters Companion.

Click the link to go to the page but only add your name once please as duplicates will be removed.

Green and White ...

Hi Everybody,

Back to the Spellbinders for this card.

I must admit that creating a Hinged Card   from the Grand Labels is one of my favorite styles.

I have added in the layers again,  both for the inside and the front,  and the top labels layer has been embossed.

I have turned it on it's side to produce a landscape card.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts  and they have been sprayed with Perfect Pearls to give them some shimmer.  They are a mixture of Roses in various sizes and some Cherry Blossoms.

The ribbon is from my "Stash" but the Diamante buckle is from The Hobby House.  The pearls in each corner are from Want2Scrap

The lovely verse is from Clarity Stamp  and I have stamped it in green and then heat embossed with clear powder.

I have had several emails from people who have watched the tutorial  Decorating Hatpins  and want to buy hatpins with end protectors from the Sparkles Group.

Unfortunately they are having huge problems and the website is down but they are still open for business.

And so I have Gabrielles'  permission to pass on her email address so that if you wanted to buy some you could drop her a line.  She is very helpful and will give you all the information you need.

Please tell her that you came from me and once you have made your order she will then invoice you via PayPal.

Gabrielle is available at ........    sales@sparklesgroup.co.uk

Pink Ovals ...

Hi Everybody,

I love this card and it is much prettier in real life than the photo shows.  It's a really delicate shade of pink

It is once again a Hinged Card as I enjoy this way of making the base.

The white layer has been embossed with one of the new A4 folders from Creative-Studios   and is the one called Basket Weave.

The next layer is pink card but I have put something called paper straw on it and this was from the Pound shop .... and guess how much it was ?????

Around these two layers I have wrapped some of my bargain ribbon with a big double bow tied with the Bow Maker  and these are selling very well in My Shop

Now in the centre of this bow I have added a large spacer with a brad in the centre and both of these can be bought from The Hobby House    ..... and doesn't it look wonderful???

The larger pearls are some of the Bulk Bling from  Want2Scrap  and I have added one in the outer ovals, and two  little stick pins are the finishing touch.

I hope you will be back tomorrow as a new "Give Away" is being added  and you won't want to miss it.

To be in with a chance to win you will need to add your name to the list.

Decorate with Ribbon

Hi Everybody,

Today the sun is shining and don't you feel much better when it does and this afternoon I am going to visit an old friend.

So a quick post before I go and get ready for the trip.

The  ribbon on this card is from Mei Flower  and is a lovely Satin with a  Silver Edge ...  but instead of adding a large bow I decided to keep this one small and pretty.

The shiny buckles are from  The Hobby House  and there are other styles for you to choose.

I have used this idea on many cards and I had an email a few days ago asking me how I get the buckle onto the ribbon.

So of course the easiest way is always to do a short video and show what I do.

The latest  Video Tutorial  is  Ribbons and Buckles   and it is not long.  Just enough time to have  a cuppa and relax for a little while.

The backing paper is from the CD "The Next Big Thing" from  Just Inklined  and the flowers are as always from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The stamp ... which was free from a Magazine ... has been heat embossed in silver

The Spellbinders used are listed below.

Ruby Red ...

Hi Everybody,

Todays cards uses lots of different Spellbinders in a layered look and they are all listed below for you.

It was a card that I didn't like as I started to make it.

But I persevered and added stuff .... and the more I added the more I liked it.

The hearts have been added with foam tape and they really stand out from the card ...  which is not obvious in the photo.

The finishing touch was adding in the bow,  made from the ribbon that was one of the best bargains I have found in a long time.

I have created a double bow  Using a Bow Maker  and to the centre I have added a small rose from Wild Orchid Crafts

I made this card for no particular reason but I added a sentiment to it from Lili of the Valley   that says "Together Forever"

Around the edge of the centre piece I have added in some red self adhesive gemstones from  The Hobby House

Gilding Flakes...

Hi Everybody,

Yesterday I added another tutorial to the website with Gilding Flakes.

The first video was using the flakes with double sided adhesive sheets when I created the Gilded Bird Cage  but  this one is about using  ....  Gilding Flakes and Stamps.

This card was stamped with the Lattice from Stamps by Chloe

I have applied Cosmic Shimmer Flake and Glitter glue to the stamp with Cut'nDry  and then I have added the Gilding Flakes.

Once the card was finished it looked too plain for me and so I added in a small self adhesive pearl to each of the cross sections.

These little pearls are from the Hobby House  and they fit perfectly.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts  and the ribbon is from my "Stash" ... and once it was done I quite liked the end result

Lovely in Lilac ...

Hi Everybody,

Todays card is the style I really enjoy making and I could do this all day given the chance.  It measures almost 8 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches and will just about fit on the card stand.

I have started the base card in white then added a layer of lilac.  The next layer of white has been embossed and all the corners have been rounded.

The panel on the left has been made with the Fancy  Lattice and then cut down to the size I wanted and matted to the lilac card.... then glued in place.

The next layers are from the 5 x 7 Matting Basics and the Detailed Scallops which is turning out to be one of my favorites dies.

I then cut the second die from the Scalloped set in white and added it with foam pads to the centre of the front.  The sentiment has been stamped and embossed and then placed behind a frame made from Labels 20.

I have added in the matching Diamante frame from  Want2Scrap  and this has been added with foam pads.

The lilac trim has been added under the sentiment and I have created a a bow and used a Diamante buckle from The Hobby House

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts  and are a mixture of Tulips, Roses, and Carnations ... and they have all been glittered with Glamour Dust ... and this one I like

21st Birthday Card

I made  this card  a  while ago for my  Grand daughter to give to her friend  for that very special birthday.

She wanted it to be pink and flowery so that was easy for me as I love both.

I made this as the  Bow Front Card  and added the instructions to the website.

The pearly swirl is created  using  a  Bazzill  Basics template and I  bought  mine from The Hobby House

The card was well recieved and of course I had to make a box to go with it.
The flowers on the box and the inside of the Acetate front are from   Wild Orchid Crafts
